Hendrix Park along with the Bryan County Recreation Department announces – Their newest addition to the growth of recreation and family fun.
“The NEOS” offers hours of electronic, interactive fun for all ages.
Black Creek, Georgia, February 14 th 2009 at 10:00am – Hendrix Park will open to the public the latest addition to the park’s growth of family fitness and health. “The NEOS” by Playworld Systems.
Hendrix Park is focused on growth as a family-friendly Sports and Recreation complex. Eighteen months ago Pratt Lockwood, the Director of Recreation for Hendrix Park, recognized an opportunity to promote physical activity and friendly competition through Playworld Systems “NEOS”. After more than a year of testing the waters for a new concept in physical activity, funding was obtained and NEOS is finally coming to Hendrix Park !
“With the growth in North Bryan County and the explosion of interactive video games such as (Nintendo’s Wii), I saw this as great opportunity for the whole community to get back to the park even if they aren’t playing sports,” said Recreation Director Pratt Lockwood. “Funding finally came together with assistance from Bryan County , Georgia Public Health Department and the Hendrix Park Youth Association. All recognized the new direction we are going with Hendrix Park and were eager to contribute. With the addition of a new Media Center and a rapidly growing Soccer program, NEOS seemed to be a perfect fit,” Lockwood states.
What is NEOS?
It is an electronic game for the whole body—and everybody. Nine exciting games; three skill levels; it is technology with an aerobic twist. Four sleek towers house flashing lights, music and sound effects. Players run back and forth, racing the clock and each other to slap the blinking lights. Each game presents a different set of challenges. Each game strengthens the mind, challenges the body and delights the spirit. NEOS inspires laughter, smiles and high-energy cheers. It encourages memory retention, hand-eye coordination, physical strength and endurance.
